Bachelor of Science, Psychology at Florida State University
Master of Education, Counselor Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs - Clemson University

Stephanie came to Sweet Briar in July of 2010. Before coming to Sweet Briar, Stephanie completed a Master of Education degree at Clemson University in South Carolina and began working in student activities during her time there. Having a love for campus events and organizations, Stephanie couldn't be more excited to be your Director of Student Involvement + Programs.

Stephanie serves as the advisor to the Campus Events Organization and the Inter-Club Council, while also working closely with the Student Activities Representatives (StARs) and all organizations at Sweet Briar.

The Office of Student Involvement + Programs also employs Student Activities Representatives (StARs) to serve as programming assistants. StARs are responsible for creating programming ideas, marketing for programs, and supporting the Office of Student Involvement + Programs in all initiatives. StARs also offer assistance and advice to the Campus Events Organization and other student organizations interested in programming. StARs are the primary staff for Late Night Vixens events, coordinate the Sweet Funds program, and oversee the Winter Mixer, along with various off-campus trips.

StARS are typically hired in the spring semester for the following year. Hiring

StARS for 2010-2011:

Katelyn James '11
Katelyn is an Engineering Nerd through and through, though she loves to do event planning also. Winter Mixer is her all time favorite event to plan during the year and it has inspired her to hopefully pursue event planning as a career. She one day hopes to own a Wedding Planning Business. She loves sushi and cookies 'n cream ice cream. Her hobbies include horseback riding and crafting. More than anything she loves Sweet Briar!

Elizabeth Young '11
Elizabeth is a History major with a Business minor, and she's getting her Arts Management certificate. Post-grad she plans to work with non profit arts organizations.

Angie Ming '13
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY Angelicia Ming is a Biology major and a Mathematics minor and plans on becoming a Gynecologist. At Sweet Briar College Angelicia is pleased to be a student activity representative and enjoys welcoming new students to the "Pink Bubble" and attending campus events. Angelicia is honored to be a part of Sweet Briar where education is valued and women graduate as strong independent leaders. "Sweet Briar College is imporant to me because stereotypes are not stressed and it is open for women to express themselves in a place they can call home."

Brooke Watts '12
North Carolina native Brooke Watts is a Government major and History minor. She is actively involved in the theater department as a member of Paint n Patches. When not doing StARs, theater, or homework, she enjoys watching Pretty Little Liars and quoting Mean Girls obsessively. She also loves to put her sushi in yum-yum sauce.
