Student Health 101 Archives

In 2002, a team of multi-disciplined physicians got together with the goal of actively promoting better health throughout college campuses. Their collective experience had demonstrated that students often feel inhibited about pro actively seeking the advice of physicians or campus health care providers regarding specific health concerns. As a result, a large part of the student population remains uninformed, leading to unhealthy lifestyle decisions. Major health issues that plague campuses on a daily basis include:

  • Unhealthy diet and nutrition
  • Excessive alcohol consumption
  • Unhealthy sexual practices
  • Depression, anxiety and fatigue
  • Drug abuse and addictions
  • Cold, flu and contagious diseases

It is in this spirit that Student Health 101 was launched as a flagship program, the Student Health 101 Magazine and Newsletter. This program is designed to engage both students and parents on these health issues — and more — through our publications.
